  • Why there is confusion on “End Times” among Baptist.

Why there is confusion on “End Times” among Baptist. By John Young, 9-23-2023 The “End Times” is of great interest, yet there is confusion and hindrances which keeps even the most experienced bible believer from properly understanding the subject. Below I show generally and simply 10 hindrances I see. If you can think of more feel free to comment them below. Over time we will expound on each in more detail to show why we believe each is a hindrance to understanding the truth.  1. Bib

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God...

Aurora Borealis in the PNW tonight. Stunningly gorgous! The first two are directly overhead our house, taken at 11:45 pm. The third (with a view inside the house) is taken from the back deck at 10:45. The final was taken in the front yard 10:45ish. Did anyone else see the lights? Any pictures?

    Altar Call for Salvation

I’ve been attending a Southern Baptist Spanish church for sometime now, I am a independent Baptist, and bilingual, I notice that the last 2 pastors preaching  great messages but are not doing altar calls, like they should be doing, being the Baptist church SHC and it’s teachings. You may ask me, why are you not going to an independent Spanish Baptist church? Well, there’s not many of those around. I do attend both for my wife sake, she prefers attending a Spanish service for now. I also attend a

    Got the Garden Plowed Yesterday

We have not had much of a garden since we moved here. Hubs is way too busy to do much. But my brother is living here now, and loves to garden. So we're going to do something this year. A neighbor plowed the garden yesterday (he has a tractor plow). We have a small tiller that can do little areas, which they will use as they plant. Our son and dil got my mom and me each a blueberry bush for Mother's Day, so those are definitely going in asap. We all love blueberries (except my son, the weirdo lol

  • The Word Easter (A Christian Etymology and Origin)

Easter in Acts 12:4 is the only mention of this word in our King James Bible. While the context and historical Christian tradition clearly shows this word to be reference to the celebration of Christ's resurrection on the Sunday Morning just after the Passover week, many have attempted to paganize or confuse this reference for various reasons. In this lesson we strongly refute those errant ideas and show the clear Christian etymology and origin of the word and why we still gladly use this wonder

Are You Righteous or Wicked? (Getting in balance with God, Proverbs 11:4-11)

When God balances the world on his scales of justice where will you be found? Will you be found without fault, or will you be found wanting? Will you be rewarded with the righteous or punished with the wicked? In this sermon we deal with these crucial questions and show how imperfect people such as us can not only be fond righteous but also thrive in holiness before God. We also show how we can influence our world for Good and have eternal benefits in the life to come rather than merely survivin

    My Poetry Books

I have been wanting to put my poetry books together as ebooks or PDFs for a while now, but the methods I used before had their quirks - weird links and info on the sides or top and bottom of the books, and the format was often broken up when converted to PDF by someone's browser or ereader. Recently, I came across this website (printfriendly.com) that easily converts your documents or files to PDFs - basically just drag and drop, then rename the file as you'd like. One of the things I wa

Just Weights and Measures (In balance with God, Proverbs 11:1-3)

Equilibrium with God and His ways in life and nature is crucial for lasting success. In this message we look at the importance of just weights and measures in everyday life and also the active involvement God has in approving and rejecting false balances in life. We also see the principle of true balance goes beyond the marketplace and is also part of a proper social and moral life with society and society's relationship with God. We see God requires that mankind must maintain a righteous and ju

Faithfulness Determines Your Yield (Proverbs 10:24-32)

Knowing we will reap what we sow, Solomon encourages us to diligently and faithfully sow things that will last into eternity rather than wasting time on things that will not last. He also cautions us to sow wholeheartedly in the prescribed way so that we can get the full reward of our labors. In this passage he contrasts those who sow correctly with those who sow in the wrong ways. He shows us that if we are faithful to the ways of God we will have joy and strength for the work and enjoy many ye

God's Method of Seed Management (Proverbs 10:14-23)

A good farmer will have a threefold sure method of receiving, storing and sowing seed in order to maximize the growth of a cash crop every year. It is not a mystical or misterios process. So too it is with God's seed (the Word of God) being planted year after year to bring forth a large and Godly crop for years to come. For the local church to survive and grow year after year, it must follow God's plan for managing his good Seed, which includes proper: Receiving and Selecting, Storing and Mainta

    • Please check out this thread again. I updated it with new (good) versions of the PDF books. Explanation above.
    • The Song Of The Redeemed I like it when something in a passage gets explained and it opens up. I’m sure I knew some of this before (though this old brain gets forgetful), but it struck me more today. Rahab, when used as a symbol through the Old Testament, refers to Egypt. Now read this: Isaiah 51:9-10 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon? Art thou not
    • Thy Gentleness Hath Made Me Great Was just reading some poetry by king David, and came across one of my favourite verses again. Focus on the last part of this verse: Psalms 18:35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great. In the world’s eyes, we may not be much or accomplish much, but in God’s eyes, we are great - because of Him. Who we are in Christ never changes from day to day, so we can alwa
    • In The Day When I Cried Sometimes we think it is presumption to ask the Lord to answer a prayer today. Though if a prayer does seem more urgent, we may have asked the Lord to perfect (complete) that which concerneth us (from Psalm 138:8). If we have a need or a trouble, we may pray for it, expecting God to answer it in His own timing. But what happens if the need seems more urgent, if the trouble we are facing seems more dire, perhaps even time-sensitive? Is it presumptuous to pray, asking
