Do you consider these song lyrics " anti-God" or otherwise insulting to your faith?

Do you consider these song lyrics " anti-God" or otherwise insulting to your faith?
Name: Matt Malone
Add a little more detail (optional): I recently asked a fellow songwriter to critique a new song of mine. I was shocked by his response. He claimed that my song was an insult to all Americans of faith. My intent was to portray a deep and lasting love between a man and his wife. The final chorus ( she's now died and he recalls her last words - which were): " Every time that you miss me / Remember the first time that you kissed me/ Every time that you feel lonely/ Remember how close you used to hold me/ And remember the promise we made/ our love is forever and even God can't take that away. No even God can't take that away.

Please let me know what you think. I'm honestly and humbly asking your opinion. If I need to post the lyrics for the entire song please let me know that also.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Well, IMHO, I do feel that your lyrics are, although probably unintentionally, belittling in a sense God's power and might.  To say that there is anything that God can't take away is kinda to say 'God, you're not big enough or powerful enough to control this thing. I'm in charge of this and you aren't.' God is over all and controls all. He can do whatever He pleases.

There are areas in which He has limited Himself by His promises or His character; for example, we know that He will always love His people, and that He will always punish sin. These are because of His unchanging character of mercy and justice.  We also know that when we have run to Him for forgiveness and cleansing from our sin, and trusted Him alone for our salvation from the punishment of that sin, that He will always save and will keep us - there is none that can pluck us out of His hand. He has limited Himself by His promise to save and keep and will not turn back.

However, your song isn't referring to something He has specifically promised never to take away. Actually, married love will not remain forever as it is on earth. The Bible tells us that in heaven people will not 'marry or give in marriage', but are as the angels in heaven. So, Biblically, it's probably not accurate. Not that you were trying to write a Biblical song, I'm sure. ;-)

I don't consider your lyrics to be particularly insulting to my faith, personally, but I do find them to be slightly insulting of Who God really is - His might and power and authority. Does that make sense? Anyways, there's my opinion, and worth what you paid for it.

Ditto ^^^^^^

God is to be glorified and worshiped.  Garrison Keeler said, "If we are not crossing over if even briefly during our worship into that realm of only God and me, then we are wasting our time.  We might as well stay at home."  God deserves all our praise and worship.  Saying "Anti-God" is the same as saying He isn't worthy of your time.  Anti means against.  Either you are for Him or against Him.  God is a God of love.  He deserves all of us, all we have, all we are, all we are not, all we can and going to be.  He created us before He created the Universe.  Give Him all you have and watch your wording.  He shed His glory and came to earth as a baby, putting on human flesh.  He didn't have to.  He did it out of love for us.
