  1. Dear Brother,

Do you still play chess? Do you have a favorite chess site? What rating are you?

I still enjoy a game of chess and as of now I am not on a web chess site. My rating wanders from 950 to 1100. As I do not play much here on Taiwan I do not have an accurate rating.

I do still play whenever I can find an opponent.  I have not played online though in years.  There was a website I used to play on, but I don't recall what it was or what my rating was at the time.

For a while I was only playing 4-way chess, but it's hard enough to find 1 opponent let alone 3.

I never player a three or four way chess. I can lose all by myself.

Lately, (one week), I have been playing on an internet site called, "lichess.com" Here is the web address: http://en.lichess.org/

I do not mind playing rated or unrated. I think on 'lichess' unrated is called, 'casual.' if you want to play let me know and I will send you my username.

  2. Any Chess Players?

Q-Q5 would have been my move
  3. Which Tax Software Would You Recommend?

I have used Turbo Tax every year I've had to file except for two years where I lived in different states. Those years I had them prepared by a tax professional. I find Turbo Tax is very easy to use and walks you through step-by-step of entering in your information including things you might not have thought of on your own.
  4. What Version Internet Explorer?

Define what you mean by switch between browsers. You should be able to click the link to bring up whichever browser you want to use. or, Are you referring how to set your Default Browser?
  5. What Version Internet Explorer?

When you pull up an Internet Explorer and press the Alt key on your keyboard does it show a menu bar at the top? Inside that Help Menu should be an option for About Internet Explorer.
  6. What Version Internet Explorer?

In the Help Menu click on About Internet Explorer. That will give you your current version.

  8. You're exactly right here. I know of a church now that has about a half-dozen people who are big into CCM, modern versions of the Bible, and theological liberalism. This church for over 50 years has stood on the King James Bible holding forth good standards and refusing to give in to worldly compromise, however the current pastor is refusing to take a hard stand against such compromise (I believe because his son is the greatest source of it in the church). Because of this, the church is heading down a slippery slope and I fear within the next generation it will no longer be a lighthouse of God's truth here on this world.
  9. Mark of the Beast?

I'm sure, John, that what you mentioned helped it along as far as the secular world is concerned and even to some extent in Christian circles. I would say that those such as Billy Graham, Jerry Falwell, and other New Evangelicals are more to blame where Christians are concerned. Because of their willingness to hold hands with the RCC and stand beside them in joint efforts it helped to break down that wall of separation between true Christians and the false religion of Catholicism. Sadly, many churches have followed New Evangelicalism in its compromising path instead of holding true to Bible principles.
  10. Have You Seen This?

You really hit the nail on the head with this paragraph. This is something which I'm seeing within our church now. We have a small group of people who are trying to bring Christian rock music into the church by simply toning down the music to it. Along with their Christian rock music they're also trying to bring in liberal theology and modern versions of the Bible such as The Message. What's even more amazing is the apathy that many others in the church have towards such worldly compromise. Most of them act in a manner as though it doesn't matter which way the church goes they're just along for the ride. I find it sad that so few today will really take a stand on the Word of God and the principles found therein.
  11. Independent Baptist Music Wars

It is sad to see a church head down this direction of compromising with the world and allowing CCM to get a foothold in its services. I know what these families are going through as well in taking a stand and then being blasted from the pulpit for refusing to compromise. I stepped down from a position as choir director because of the direction that the choir/special music was going. We have had people attempting to bring Christian Rock into the church to sing as specials. Keep in mind that our church has always stood against CCM for as long as I have been there, but now there is a certain group within the church that is starting to slowly bring this type of compromise into the church. I have taken a stand both publicly outside of the church against such compromise, I have preached against CCM and worldly compromise from our church's pulpit, and I have spoken to the pastor in private about it beginning to rear its head in the church. Instead of preaching against this type of music the pastor has chosen to make certain comments and digs from the pulpit against those who would take a stand against it. This same group that is attempting to bring CCM into the church and are openly listening to such are also beginning to bring in the modern Bible versions (especially The Message) and liberal preachers (James MacDonald, Tony Evans, T.D. Jakes, Greg Laurie, Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, et. al.). More than anything it hurts to watch a church which you have given your life and heart to for several years follow this path of compromise. It hurts knowing that you are the only one taking a public stand against this compromise and that the stand one has taken has caused all those who were once close friends to leave you. If there is one thing I will preach against all my life, by the grace of God, it will be worldly compromise and the damage it will do to a Christian and a Church. In Christ, PreacherE

  14. That’s Not Fair

Maybe use Matthew 20 where Jesus told the parable of the workers sent to the vineyard. Those who only worked an hour were paid the same wage as those who had worked the whole day. They definitely didn't think it was fair. Just an idea.
  15. While Ruffles Flourish and Bands Play

When I read this it immediately brought to mind Psalm 2:1-4 'Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. ' The heathen can go ahead and rage against the Lord now but one day they are going to have to stand before Him and what a sad day that will be.
