  1. The morning I got saved, the title of the message was "The Lord is my Shepherd". Bro. Billy Parsons spoke with tears in his eyes and a choked up voice. He never got loud or red-faced. It's impossible to be real if one is full of self, instead of the Holy Ghost. I made a beeline for the altar and gave my heart to Jesus.
  2. Here is a nice little article on the "changes". https://bible.org/article/changes-kjv-1611-illustration here's an example of how John 3:16 was "changed" https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/King-James-Bible-English/
  3. A short story to entertain you! Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every mom...ent of life. As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the Nova Scotia back country. As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions. I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play. The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I've never played before for this homeless man. And as I played "Amazing Grace", the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished, I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head was hung low, my heart was full. As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I never seen anything like that before, and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years." Apparently, I'm still lost....it's a man thing.
  4. HAHAHAHA! good one.
  5. I agree, it was addressed to Christians breaking laws, but I would think it could also apply to all evil deeds, like Hitler invading Poland and murdering Jews in concentration camps, the Japanese attacking pearl harbor, or Saddam Hussein gassing the Kurds. God used man/governments to judge them all as you well know. But, I don't believe Israel has the right or propensity to attack our "muslim led country" unless we violate/attack them first. Hopefully we'll not vote Hitlery into office either.
  6. No, because you wouldn't be "cursing" God's people or showing preemptive aggression. This verse is speaking to bloodwashed, born again Christians and it applies: Romans 13:4"................if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil." In other words, if you rob my store, break into my house, murder someone and run afoul of the Government, or attack another country, whatever happens next is your fault. But I don't believe Israel would do that.
  7. I got it too, noticed the word "kindly". Probably a "419" (Nigerian) scam.
  8. I believe we're born sinners, but also think this is a learned thing. Only one parent in the home, or mama not letting the boy be a boy and daddy not letting the girl be a girl. Also, society has blurred the distinction between manly and womanly things, roles, and attitudes. It's no longer a "man thing" to "wear the pants", go out in the woods and kill a deer or to be a construction worker, police officer, fire fighter, combat soldier...or President of the United States; girls are doing those things now. Not only that but today, men are portrayed as morally and intellectually deficient, disrespected blundering fools. Why be a man anymore? By the same token, why be a woman anymore, since they're portrayed as weak, oppressed victims of men.
  9. False teachers and worldly churches are not always "namby pamby", "love only" places; They're often harsh, controlling, and manipulating. Ezekiel 34
  10. So were Stalin and Hitler... she reminds me of Jezebel.
  11. Why do the heathen rage.......?
  12. Foot washing, as I understand it, was really just a picture of something like Galatians 6:1-3. You can do it if you want to, and I see nothing wrong with it except smell, toe fungus and athlete's foot but it's not an ordinance like Baptism and Lord's Supper are.
  13. First of all, they have "created" nothing; manipulated what already exists, but no creation going on.
  14. Based on what I've seen/heard him say, he was a deceiver. What about his son, Franklin? Anyone know much about him?
  15. It seems we are at an even worse situation than last election. Last time it was the choice between a wicked Muslim race-baiting, communisitic, baby-killing, America-hater and a Mormon. Nobody wanted to vote for the conservative because he was a Mormon. I'll be honest, I didn't want to vote for a Mormon either. But there are an awful lot ofBaptists, even "Fundamental" ones who are willing to overlook "reformed doctrine" but wouldn't think of voting for a Mormon when one is just as heretical as the other. Nobody is going to be a perfect leader; David wasn't, Hezekiah wasn't. Solomon even went from being wise to being a foolish failure.. But Hillary Clinton is a vile, wicked Jezebel of a woman who will take over the reins from Barack Obama and finish driving our country over the cliff to oblivion. I didn't like having to vote for the Mormon, nor do I like the idea of voting for Trump. But if we "vote our conscience" this time, it seems we're going to make the same stupid mistake as last time. I see no other choice than to vote for Trump. If Hillary gets in there, we're sunk.
