  3. Spirit separation service

Yes, but how can others know we are "filled with the Spirit"? They (and we) can know because the Spirit of God is manifested by love. See 1 John 4 the entire chapter Now please read Romans 12. If we obey the first two verses, we can walk in the Spirit, and are "not conformed to this world". Then we can do what is in the rest of the chapter, effective witnesses through love.
  4. Spirit separation service

The Spirit of God is about love, not merely "do's and don'ts. This, I think, illustrates how "spirit and separation" are inseparable...... Romans 13: 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. A man once told me he didn't like my church because it was "too legalistic". Acts of "separation" CAN be legalistic if they're done for the wrong reasons. But it's not "legalistic" if it's done in the spirit of love. For instance, if you love your neighbor you will not "dress" provocatively in front of him/her. You won't dance provocatively either. You won't drink or smoke because you don't want to be a stumblingblock. You will try not to be a bad influence in other habits and behaviors because you're doing it out of love and if you're doing it out of love how can you be judgmental of your neighbor who doesn't do as you do? I'm agreeing with you. Good post! :)
  5. Spirit separation service

Depends on how one defines "separation". The Bible says you can't worship God without "spirit and truth". Some emphasize truth with no spirit and others have plenty of "spirit" but no truth. But the two are inseparable. (no pun intended). Some are so "separated" they forget how to treat others, even in their own church.
  6. Who are the “sons of God” in Genesis 6?

"Ge 6:4 - ¶ There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." "There were giants in the earth...." this states a situation "in those days"....denotes the time period The fact that the first statement is followed by a semicolon means the first statement is related to the second. The second statement begins with "and also after that" But "after that" cannot mean "at a later time" because the WHOLE STORY is taking place "in those days" Therefore, the phrase "after that" , instead of meaning "later in time", means that the second state of events are an "imitation of" or happening "as a result of" or "because of" he The existence of "giants" https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/after The first part of Genesis 6. is describing Genesis 5, are you with me? Let's take Methuselah for instance: Brother Methuselah, the grandfather of Noah, was a direct ancestor in the lineage of Christ(see Luke chapter 3) and he was a believer; a "son of God". So, if Methuselah lived 969 years and "begat sons and daughters", he was still around when his family had multiplied into the thousands, possibly the millions. Brother Methuselah's family was a "superpower". The whole "tribe" were "mighty men" and a force to be reckoned with in a world full of "giants" and "violence". Brother Methuselah was "backslid" and "conformed to this world". Still saved, but backslid because he married a lost woman(most likely multiple lost women). By contrast, his grandson Noah, was "perfect in his generations". In other words, Noah had ONE(numero uno) wife and he "begat" all three of his sons by her alone, she was no doubt a beleiver so he was not "unequally yoked". Brother Noah "generated" perfectly, God's way..
  7. Who are the “sons of God” in Genesis 6?

Good to see this topic here with no debate. I agree with y'all. "Sons of God" were/are believers; not ''angels'' :)
  8. If you're still unsure...

If you're still unsure about Mr. Obama being an evil man, this is the artist he chose to paint his portrait to be displayed in the Smithsonian. https://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/strange-facts-obamas-portrait-painter-kehinde-wiley/
  9. Calvinism or Arminianism? How do you answer?

I tell them I am neither.. After a couple of Bible verses, those are out. Then they try to pin me as a "universalist", "synergist", "pelagian" or "semi-pelagian" but as we get further into the Bible, it shows that I am none of those either. Got any more names?
  10. CCM And their influence

It bugs me when they sing this one at our church sometimes ...... I once was lost in sin but Jesus took me inAnd then a little light from heaven filled my soulHe bathed my heart in love and wrote my name aboveAnd just a little talk with my Jesus made me whole(Now let us) have a little talk with Jesus (let us) tell him all about our troubles(He will) hear our faintest cry (and we will) answer by and by(Now when you) feel a little prayer wheel turning(Then you'll) know a little fire is burning(You will) find a little talk with Jesus makes it right Isn't that "Buddism" or something?
  11. Annual Rant about Santa Clause

My take on it was that when kids learn that was a lie, they might think Jesus was too. So we didn't do Santa Claus

Merry Christmas and God's blessings to you too Brother Alan.
  14. Islam

I don't have time to look all this up today. But I believe "mono" means "one" correct? Then doesn't "gene" come from the same word we get "genes", "genetics", "gendered" and "generate"? When you "beget" a son, your son comes from your "GENES" right?. So God Almighty "generated", "gendered" His Son Jesus by the Holy Ghost the Bible says and His Son is the ONLY ONE.
