Thanks to those who prayed for me, and gave to me to go to Uganda last summer. For those who saw my video update, I mentioned a man named Fanuel, I had gotten to go and share the Gospel with him at his hut and he got saved, then proceeded to come to our meetings that same evening and gave a public testimony of salvation:
Here is a picture of him from the day he got saved in summer of 2016. Then I received another picture from my friend over in Uganda of this second picture, which was him at the Church today, one year later, attending soul winning training! Praise God

We grilled steaks again...we never used to eat steak because it was so costly. But God provided us with a beef, and we are enjoying it! We also had salad, and my hubs had a baked potato.

I've got an idea Invicta, if you invite me for dinner there will be no more leftover chicken. Matter of fact, there may not be any for you.

Praise the Lord, it has rained here! Forecast was for "sprinkles" of rain. But sometime in the middle of the night (probably about 3 ish), I woke up to llwind and RAIN!!!!  IT continued throughout the night, and has rained much of the day. Not a torrential rain, but a slow, steady rain. The kind that allows the ground to absorb the water.
We are still praying that the fire areas will receive rain as well.
Thank you to all who prayed with us!

I appreciate the public testimony of Assistant Chief Dan Orr in the Sequim Gazette newspaper that HappyChristian referenced.
Assistant Chief Dan Orr said, "Assistant Chief Dan Orr said an SUV caught fire on the U.S Forest Service’s Forest Road 2880 off Palo Alto Road in the afternoon but due to being so rural that by the time crews arrived it was mostly burnt up already. “By the grace of God, it burned in a spot not by the forest,” Orr said."

A bit late in replying Jim,  but I did roast veggies today served with a chicken  breast portion.  I add salt and pepper a little finely ground Herbes de Provence and a touch of ground garlic with a good sprinkling of olive oil.  I used to use Pyrex for potatoes but found that they stuck to it.  We now use Black non stick pans as they don't stick and it aids browning.
(Black pans also aid defrosting frozen things, the thicker the better.  I remember doing an experiment in school where we tested the heating and cooling of Black, white and two shades of grey, and the black came out tops in all cases.)

We have been inundated constantly with heavy acrid smoke since June 4th. This last week has been unbearable. No matter whch way the wind blows, it blows smoke from different directions and numerous fires, both here in Northern California an d Southern Oregon.

Yes we had a fire from a lightning strike, maybe 1/2 mile from our farm. praise God the wind was blowing it west, while we were north, but it still got pretty close. We were all loaded up, ready to release the animals and lead them to the lake about 1/2 mile the other way at the edge of our property, but the crews and the planes got it out before we had to. burned about 80-100 acres.
But yes, fires everywhere, over 600,000 acres in Montana already, a real mess. I don't see these things as any kind of judgment by God, as some do-rather, I see part as the result of the wrong-headed environmentalists not allowing forests to be thinned and undergrowth to be cleaned out, making normal fires much worse, as well as people throwing cigarettes out of cars, and apparently one large fire from someone playing with fireworks. As for the storms, well, it IS storm season and the storms have overall been much less of late, so two storms seems so odd right now.

Tragedy is widespread throughout the US right now, with the flooding and damage from Harvey and the coming damage from Irma. Then the west is burning - literally hundreds of thousands of acres (almost 100,000 in WA alone) gone.
We have been smoke-covered since Monday night. Thankfully, to this point, we have not had any major fires. One small one the other day, but it was quickly contained.
But Sequim is a prairie. And so it doesn't get much rain in the summer anyway. This summer, though, we've only had rain once since May, and it wasn't much at all. We are dry. I would greatly appreciate it if you would join us in prayer for rain. It is in the forecast for tomorrow and Friday, a little, but we all know how weather forecasts go...
Anyway, the link I've put at the end of this post is from the town paper. We've been bumped up to very high on the danger list. Clallam and Jefferson counties are where we live - we are right on the county divide.
I am not worried. I know God is in control. I would be lying, though, if I said I wasn't at all concerned. Thank you for praying.

This does sound delicious! Will definitely try it this fall/winter (we don't do much baking in the summer because the kitchen gets far too hot). Thanks!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This is a prayer for Pastor Curtis Omo. He lives in Houston and is facing the tropical storm Harvey. Thankfully (to God), his house hasn't been torn apart by the storm and the flood. Please pray that our Lord God will keep him safe in the midst of this, and through it.

OK, the key to perfection is uniformity. In this case uniformity is in the form of every vegetable, except one, cut to as close to the same size as possible. Size depends of personal preference, but in every preference, all the same size.
I start with a large rectangular Pyrex baking dish with low sides.
I like a variety of fresh veggies, but you can use as few or as many as you like.
My veggies usually consist of; potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus. You can use as few or as many veggies as you like.
Cut veggies all the the same size except the garlic.
Separate garlic cloves from the bulb, and cut the cloves in quarters and remove garlic skin.
Wash veggies in water and drain thoroughly. Be careful with the onions and cabbage. you don't want them to fall apart. You may find that you have to cut the cabbage just a bit larger due to it being fragile and the leaves separating.
Place veggies in the baking dish, don't just dump them in. I like to leave just a bit of space between each piece.
Place garlic evenly around and between all vegetables. Sprinkle vegetables liberally with EVO. Now sprinkle them very lightly with your favorite seasoned salt, I prefer Johnny's.
Place dish in oven heated to 350 degrees. Bake until all veggies are soft to  an inserted fork or toothpick..
The olive oil will carry the flavor of the garlic throughout all the vegetables as they bake, this is why I like to place the garlic as evenly as possible throughout the vegetables. You will find that the garlic will impart a slight sweet, seasoned taste to the rest of the vegetables.
You will find this method an enjoyable and tasty alternative to boiled or steamed vegetables. And preparation is not as long as it may seem when you read this.
If you try this, let me know how you liked or disliked it and why.
