JohnnyDeafBaptist added a topic in Introduce YourselfHi EveryoneHello,My name is John and I am Deaf. I grew up in a Deaf family that went to Deaf school in the Midwest. I put my faith on Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was 8 years old. I spent my whole live reading the King James Bible. I have attended Baptist Churches in Hammond, IN, Fridley, MN, Wheaton, MD and Colorado Springs. Co when I was younger. I now live in Omaha, NE and I visit two hearing. IFB churches nearby. I got my BA from Gallaudet in 2006 in ASL studies.
I been IFBC member for 30 years now and still pray that God will find me a Deaf Church I can serve in. I am wiowed and have a 7 year old son. My wife who was Deaf and had Usshers Syndrome and had Cystic fibrosis and went to heaven 4 years ago.
I am planning, Lord willing, that i can complete my MA studies somewhere out of this state. There is much too persecution here from Deaf members from the Churches of Christ (Campbellites) and Ecumenical Mega Church Non-denominationalist but for two years I have tried to reach the lost and start a IFBC Deaf ministry to no avail yet.
Anyways, nice to meet you all,

JohnnyDeafBaptist added a topic in Introduce YourselfIntroductionHello Everyone,
I joined this group to make friends and share scriptures with anyone interested in studying God's word with me. I am 51 years old and been saved since I was 8 years old at a Baptist church in Duluth, Minnesota. I am widowed and have an 7 year old son. I love reading and studying the inspired and preserved King James Bible. I m looking for a good Baptist church with a thriving Deaf ministry and has or is looking for a Deaf Bible teacher and has a few really skilled (possibly certified) American Sign language interpreters. I hold a BA degre from Gallaudet University in ASL studies and looking to work part-time as an ASL teacher. Ive beeen praying a lot this year about what directions God wants me to go and have been praying patiently.
Grace and peace,
