Not sure of your points in any of this post friend but thanks for quoting me anyway. The last lines of your post however were simply Markle's refute of the unverified, unreliable reliance preterism has on man's written account of history. No, he certainly does not buy into preterism in any form or fraction of it from what I can tell.

Good point Alimantado. I would interject faith in God that His Word is written for all do understand it in context from beginning to end. However the more complex doctrines require grammatical mastery or we run into issues like this.
Faith is the key. If we believe it is true our only hope to understand it all is mastery of the grammar, word usage and definition after we are born again. The Word makes no reference or footnotes to any "mans" history or books. It is completely independent of all other written materials.
It stands alone. The problems like preterism are based on misunderstanding of grammatical context and the interjection of 'man's' written perversion of history to prove a false idea.
I have seen 'mens' interpretation and recording of historical facts throughout my lifetime and of hundreds of example, nothing written soon after those events came close to true in the details. However, God's Word is absolute truth in every jot and tittle.  The original conjurers of preterism placed equal weight of fact on these perverted written records as they do Scripture.
And lets face it, no one enjoys being wrong especially when they fall on their swords blindly in the defense of a false idea.

The Spirit will never change the meaning of English grammatic context to match a reader's inability to comprehend. God has appointed teachers, preachers to instruct those who cannot.
The Spirit will never change a "yes" to a "no" or a "have" to a "have not" just because we want Him to match a preconceived notion we have bought into. This is the true meaning of "private interpretation". Understand it as it is written or seek the counsel of those that can. Nowhere does God say He will teach us how to read.
Do not run off with notions invented by those who should have sought a teacher but insisted in the flesh to be someone who understands "differently"
Seems every tom, dick and harry wants to pronounce themselves as teachers and prophets and preachers when they have no business doing so. Chief of the boat hit the nails on every head in his last post. VERY few are given by God as Pastors, prophets or teachers.
If you can't figure out what it says yourself, why on earth would you think God wants you to teach it?

I have said it before more than once that the entire idea of preterism is based on a lack of reading comprehension.

Recipe for disaster i suspect. In all relationships, the one who shows the least interest is always in control. Even in this post women's lib culture, when women chase men the men tend to start running away faster.
Back off and let him come to you. If he doesn't then you have your answer. Might seem a hard idea now but will save you pain later.

Safe and fruitful journey brother Jim.

More proof positive that the KJ english context beats the greek guessicon every single time..

I think one point MC is making is there are some believers who will not partake in the Lord's Supper out of confusion over sins of the mind committed even the day of. Particularly if they haven't had a chance to talk to the Lord and get them right thoroughly enough in their minds. I personally haven't seen anyone refused by the church to partake however. I am referencing the Christians themselves declining out of conscience.
Based on the context of I Cor 5: 9-13 Jim mentioned are in keeping with outward sinful practices shamelessly among brethren and not hidden sins of the heart. Face it, we are all fornicators in the mind from time to time, more so covetous and idolaters. The context Scriptures surrounding these passages are of outward public displays of sinful practices.

    Very clearly explained MC, thanks.

Yeah you are right brother, apologies. It is not my business what others do or don't. I must have had a beam in my coffee that morning.

I can't believe any reasonable man could waste God's time and money watching millionaires play a children's game when they should be floppin whoppers at burger king in all fairness- this goes even MORE for football except 90% of those players would be in prison and not burger king.
Good clean fun....I suppose but make no mistake, the countless hours of precious time you waste watching this dribble will all be for naught in eternity and you will regret it.
Hey but I guess you could be watching porn instead so enjoy.

Now that is true preparation advice right there. Turn off the dribble on the discovery channel.

? Why would you waste one breath preaching this on the street? Seems a waste to me that a man consecrated enough to regularly preach to strangers would preach sighted subjects to the blind. How would you expect them to understand anything in God's Word before the Gospel?

Perhaps some present day illustrations to whatever the point is here would help and much less embellishment.
Who is it that you are referencing as being defrauded?

These so called Bible based movies give me chills down my spine. I decided to try a couple like "Noah" and "Exodus" and they were as wrong as two boys kissing. I walked out of there feeling like I needed a shower. Satan loves him some roman paganism and hollywood.
