  • Bio Name: Jordan

New to the Baptist denomination, was saved in the pentecostal church, moved to Baptist about 2 years ago. Went through discipleship through the church and have been studying as much as I can on as many topics as I can since. Currently teaching the adult sunday school class, and going through Faith Bible Institute Bible school.

You may not agree with me on everything, (eg: my music views are complex and a lot of people wont bother to hear my side of the story) however. I love all my brothers and sisters in Christ, and am so happy that you have accepted salvation through Christ alone, My prayer is that you would pray with me for your lost family members and mine, and continue to preach Christ crucified.

None of Johns scriptures deal with double predestination... they deal with Gods will...I have no idea what your getting at or trying to say here. It sounded like John was eluding to that position so I posted a quick reason as to why I would disagree with it.. hope that clears it up. Otherwise I'm just officially confused as to the point your trying to make. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

im not advocating God does such things. You said I didn't do something so I offered to if you feel like I've missed something. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

I can tackle those if youd like? they are not difficult passages so I left them.

none of these show inclination that God therefore selects a few and thereby rejects the rest. but rather that man is in need of a savior.

the "nice guy" comment was in sarcasm at the thought of double predestination.

I'm not sure I understand, but it sounds like you are indeed saying that God would be just in creating a man just to send him to hell.

This I disagree with, its tempting to say "God can do what He wants, He's God" but God cant do anything against His own attributes (as I'm sure you are aware), therefore for this reason I say that God would not be just in creating someone, not allowing them a choice in their eternity and banishing them to eternal torment (and from all those I have talked to who are Calvinists; this is Calvinism if you logically play out TULIP to its end). This defies Gods attributes (in my opinion) and to me, makes God no better than planned parenthood (I get that sounds really strong and like I'm bashing God but note I don't believe God does these things, due to the fact of God being Love itself (1 John 4 is like the greatest chapter on this)

anyway, my .02 again sorry for dragging up a dead thread.

I really like OB, I do however miss certain people that got removed from the forum. Although sometimes I think stones are quickly thrown for silly disagreements. Overall I think everyone means well. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

Last night I couldn't keep a connection to ob, if I switched my IP on my VPN I could get in briefly then shut down again. Very odd. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk

If it was sufficient for all.. that wouldn't be Limited atonement. It surprises me how many calvinists get hung up on their own "theology". Don't get me wrong, I'm far from a scholar but some of these are pretty simple. "If therefore then" statements if God only calls some, He therefore then sends others away. Just as if I Love life, I therefore then hate abortion. Therefore to the calvinist God is just in creating beings that He knows will sin just to send them to hell...nice guy? that article is humorous at best. Even if you decided to go to Strongs for Lev 18:22, the definition of Abomination there:

    "H8441
    תֹּעֵבַה    תּוֹעֵבַה
    tô‛êbah    tô‛êbah
    to-ay-baw', to-ay-baw'
Feminine active participle of H8581; properly something disgusting (morally), that is, (as noun) an abhorrence; especially idolatry or (concretely) an idol: - abominable (custom, thing), abomination.
    Total KJV occurrences: 117"

sooo either way, the article falls flat.

as for the KJB "controversy", I dont think you need the greek, I believe the KJB is preserved. Some people like to use the greek who are KJVO; I dont find it necessary for my own studies, lesson planning, teaching etc.

    "What about Greek nuggets?"

I find just using a good ol 1828 dictionary helpful, as my english fails in comparison to the KJB.

REV'EREND, adjective [Latin reverendus.] 1. Worthy of reverence; entitled to respect mingled with fear and affection; as reverend and gracious senators. http://webstersdictionary1828.com/ I know I'm not worthy of reverence... neither is anyone with a theology degree.
