Over seas I would say Sainte Maxime, France or the Black Forest region of Germany.

As a former OTR truck driver I've seen plenty of America and every state has it's beautiful places. Even New Jersey was gorgeous along the Delaware River in the Northwest part of the state.. Tennessee, Virginia, Arizona, New Mexico, Minnesota, Maine and Colorado are some states that left a big impression on me. Even little Rhode Island was quite a beautiful place when I was there, especially along the coast. I never made the Pacific Northwest so I can't comment on that. States like Indiana and Ohio, though they were mostly flat, had a real Americana feel about it which I found appealing. It's really hard to top the Smokey Mountain regions of Tennessee and North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Skyline of Virginia though, IMO.

I have to agree with the Super Genius on this one.  Something beautiful everywhere.  While trucking I covered 46 of the contiguous 48 plus Canada from Winnipeg to Vancouver B.C.  I even trucked into Tijuana and Nogales, just far enough into Mexico to say I been there.  There is beauty everywhere . . . . that's the way God made it.  One should dwell on the beauty of this world and pray for the things that aren't, I guess.  I have never had a desire to go on cruises and trips around the world and such things.  I couldn't afford it anyway.  I have more than enough beauty around me here in the Northwest to please me the rest of my time here.

This is one of my favorite spots in Central Oregon.  Crane Prairie reservoir bright and  early in the morning from my camp.

God bless,

Larry

The rotunda of the National Archives.

Now of you're looking for an outside place, in NORTH America, Lake Louise or any spot in the Alberta Rockies. :wink

I'm partial to this small town in Georgia.  I could be wrong, but it might be where the garden of Eden was located.   :coverlaugh:

I often joke with my wife that I don't find streets of gold or a mansion desirable.  Just give me a small cabin and a fall day in New Hampshire, Vermont or the Adirondaks and that is where God can leave me for all eternity.  Also this "almost heaven" WV state I live in does good for me too.

I camped in the Adirondaks once at Star Lake.

New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia just south of Summerville. I had to drive over this in the fog and freezing rain. Lovely and scary at the same time.

They actually have a day in October where the bridge is blocked off for bungee and base jumping.

The only bungee jumping I can ever see me doing is perhaps jumping over a bungee. skipping-rope-smiley-emoticon.gif
