Well, in all honesty, the only thing I wanted from him was scripture to show that the Bible commands membership in order to be a "proper" NT church. That's all.  So that prompted the innuendo of liberals, universal church.  Personal attacks have to be stopped somewhere, and considering that it is a common one for him to make...well...

The use of the word "liberals" had nothing, has nothing to do with you or 282 but the, "rightly dividing" crowd.  If you don't believe me, call me a liar and ban me now.

I don't need you to protect me from personal attacks neither, I'm a big boy and can handle anything that comes my way (through Christ of course)!

It's a strange day indeed when one cannot call some squirrel a bonehead and yet others perpetrate heresy after heresy without a peep from those in authority.

I don't know that the members are judging anything. In our church, when the deacons recommend someone for membership, they are saying they want the person as a member.

If a person has repented, then there is no impediment to their membership.

I throw a sin at you. lf the person had sex with a minor, can he or she be a member of your church?

Not legally, on most states. Assuming they were themselves 4 or more years removed from being a minor.

Here's God's take on it:

Luk 17:2
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

The use of the word "liberals" had nothing, has nothing to do with you or 282 but the, "rightly dividing" crowd.  If you don't believe me, call me a liar and ban me now.  You already said that. I accepted your word.  The fact still remains that you used the term and no "liberal" had posted.  And that was the basis for my telling you to stop.  I stand by it.  You've used that word until it means nothing

I don't need you to protect me from personal attacks neither, I'm a big boy and can handle anything that comes my way (through Christ of course)!  I haven't tried to protect you  from anything. But it is my job - whether or not you like it - to stop personal attacks. Even if they come from you.  You say you're a big boy, and yet you stick your tongue out when a mod tells you to stop something.  That's not very big boyish, and it certainly isn't through Christ.

It's a strange day indeed when one cannot call some squirrel a bonehead and yet others perpetrate heresy after heresy without a peep from those in authority. Ah, but you don't know what's going on behind the scenes

Just checking, what if she or he was seventeen year of age? Back then they got married at 14, 15, 16, 17 years of age.

Enough with the 'just checking.'

Not what we are discussing, here.
You are talking about a legal marriage.

We were discussing a sex-offender.

Actually we are talking about church membership - leave off with the red herrings.........

Look at what the Bible says instead of people's opinions on loopholes......

It didn't work out for the catholics. It would not work for Baptists.

either I got into this thread or another too late or you all went over my heads, but what heresy is trying to be taught? I'm so confused.

No worries, Miss Daisy.  Some of the threads seem to be blending together.  I got very confused yesterday.  :)
