Has anyone seen the reports coming out of Kurdistan and Iraq which say it wasn't the Americans who helped push ISIS out of those two towns? Reports from those on the ground say Russia sold some fighter planes to Iraq and Russian pilots flew the Iraqi marked planes into battle against ISIS in those towns and that's what enabled the Kurds to drive ISIS out.

That would actually make more sense than the Obama story where one day he said he approved giving some arms to the Kurds and the next he said the Kurds had drove ISIS out of those two towns because he had armed them. According to his own timeline, there wasn't time between his approval of arming the Kurds and the Kurds driving ISIS out for any arms to have been put in their hands. I questioned that statement of his from the beginning and soldiers who had served over there said there was no way what Obama said could be true.

Is it possible Obama made a minimal move over there with dropping some humanitarian supplies, saw what the Russians accomplished with ease, and decided to try and take credit for it without even acknowledging the Russians successfully helping the Iraqis and Kurds to deal a blow to ISIS?

That seems to fit what those on the ground have been talking about, except according to those there, the Iraqi planes with Russian pilots have already been involved in very important ways in this fight.

Interesting to consider that Putin offered to confront this terrorist group in Syria alongside America. At that time Obama declared this group to be part of the "freedom fighters" he wanted to take over Syria.

If you are on the ground and a plane is flying overhead, how can you tell what nationality the pilot is?
You can tell what sort of plane it is, sure - that is pretty easy........

From my understanding, it's those in Iraq saying the pilots are Russian, and that's where the air bases are.

Other than that, you are correct, it would be difficult to know the nationality of the pilots.

If this is occurring, it's a bold and brilliant move by Putin. While he's been hampered from overtly helping Assad militarily in Syria, this would be a backdoor means of attacking the same forces that are fighting in Syria, and all under the cover of helping the Kurds and Iraqis and with at least tacit approval from most nations.

They have also been reporting that Iranian drones are flying over the area, along with American drones, and the Iraqi planes with the possible Russian pilots.

Certainly not the first time the Russians have supplied aircraft and staff to run them to people in that region.

That's true. America and Russia (Soviet Union) have been playing that game since before I was born!
