#397399 Questioning One's Belief Or View Of Scriptural Meanings

Posted by Standing Firm In Christ on Yesterday, 11:30 PM

Searching the internet for Catholics and Preterism, I came across the Catholic forum. The Catholics have much to say on Preterism, and they subscribe to the doctrine.

Further research reveals that the doctrine was said to be invented by either Luis De Alcazar, or by John Henten (also known as Hentenius)... both Roman Catholic Jesuits.

Salyan, don't have a heart attack, but on this we are in agreement.  LoL

Jordan, attend to your studies and God will bring the woman into your life and heart in His time.  His time is always right on time.

I am reminded of the first man and woman on Earth, Adam and Eve.  When God created Eve for Adam, He did not tell Adam, I have a woman for you... go and find her!  No, He brought the woman into the man's life Himself.  Focus on God and your studies and let Him work and bring the woman to you.

When you confront those Pentecostals, ask them why they have catchers to catch those slain in the Spirit? I say, move out of the way and let them fall. If it truly is the Spirit, why hinder His work? Let them fall with the force He knocked them down.

Of course, there is a chance they will stand up immediately and manifest what spirit really prompted them to fall. LOL

I cannot honor Obama in any way at present.  Perhaps if he trusted Christ the answer would be different.

My Bible says that those that God puts over us are terrors to the evil, and not the good.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Romans 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Romans 13:6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Obama is against all that is God.  He has clearly demonstrated it.  His office is not ordained of God.  Rather, it is allowed by God.  God wants a people who will have Him as their authority.  Instead, they, like ancient Israel, wanted a king to rule them.  God gave them what they wanted.  He has allowed America to have what they wanted.

Sadly, that which they wanted has proven to not be that which they needed.

No, based on the fact that God's appointed rulers are terrors to the evil and not the good, I can emphatically say that God did not give us Obama so that we could honor Obama.

Sorry Covenanter, but Scripture refutes your argument that the Temple in Jerusalem was standing

John was in the Spirit on Patmus, not in Jerusalem. He was called up to the third Heaven, not to Jerusalem. The Temple he was to measure was future.

Revelation 4:1 (KJV) 1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door [was] opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard [was] as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

I suggest you study outside the box of Preterism. Preterism is a disgrace to the truth.

In response to your question to Covenanter: A 90 AD writing would have mentioned such a grand destruction

as did happen in 70 AD. So yes, since there is the lack of any mention, there is scripture proving a pre-70 AD writing of

the book John wrote, which we know as the book of Revelation.

Revelation 1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

The thing is, just because John did not record the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in his Revelation, does not prove that it had not taken place.

For the book, Jesus Christ said "Write the things that thou hast seen."  If John was not in Jerusalem to see the destruction of the Temple, it stands to reason that he would not have written as one that had first-hand knowledge of it.

So, the fact that he didn't mention it, doesn't mean it happened, or that it didn't happen... it simply means he did not see it.

There is greater evidence that John the Revelator died after the destruction of the Temple at Jerusalem than before.  During the time that Jerusalem was invaded, Nero was the reigning emporor.  Nero didn't exile Christians... he killed them.  He used them as torches in his garden.

But Domitian, who ruled after Nero and after Titus invaded Jerusalem, exiled Christians.  John was exiled to Patmos after he miraculously escaped death when he was put in a pot of boiling oil.

The fact is, none can withhold the antichrist except God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is in the world today, keeping us, as Jesus asked His Father to send it for that purpose in John's Gospel.  It is the Comforter, the Holy Spirit that is the restraining force in the world today.  He alone is keeping the antichrist from unleashing his full power upon the Church and the world.  And the Spirit will indeed be taken out of the way.  Not removed, but taken out of the way  so that the antichrist can go forth in the world and deceive many with lying signs and wonders.

What Scripture? Where does it say
James is who is being spoken of in 2 Thes. 2?

The words "temple" and "body", appear together in only one verse in the Pauline epistles.

Wilson will probably have to move, since NY Times leaked his street name to the general public.

If he does move, let him come to my town.  I'd be more than happy to have him and his wife living on my street.

Could it be because every one of your posts seem to vilify the Ferguson DA and the Ferguson PD?

Invicta, the verdict was not reached in a few hours. There were three long months of testimonies and reports.

Those raising a ruckus are not criminals?  Hmmm, throwing bottles at police, throwing rocks at police, breaking and entering business establishments, vandalizing, arson, shooting firearms in public, etc..

Not sure what town you live in, Pilgrim, but I am pretty sure throughout the rest of America those acts are criminal acts.  And those committing those acts are criminals, whether you want to admit it or not.

The thing so many want to ignore is the fact that Brown was not shot until he began charging at Wilson.  He'd already proven his thuglike behavior when he beat Wilson unmercifully back at the Tahoe.  And here he was rushing toward Wilson again.

What was Wilson to do?  He used his gun to protect himself.  He fired a few shots.  Brown stopped momentarily, then began rushing him again.. even though he obviously was hit by the officer's gunfire.  So the officer fired a few more shots, the fatal blow being the bullet to the top of the head as Brown bent over in a tackle position, bearing down upon him.

Let's face the facts.  Brown tried to bully a cop and bit off more than he could chew.  Three separate autopsy's (by Prosecution ME, Defense ME, & F.B.I. ME) confirm Wilson's side of the story.  People need to accept the Grand Jury's ruling and strive to teach their children proper ways to act when confronted by Law Enforcement Officer's
