Oh Thrill.......

17 July 2014 - 03:54 PM

I should have finished the perimeter fence this spring instead of building the greenhouse.

My next door neighbor who lets her great dane run free, and has already been coming in my yard, just blessed us with more. Thanks to Facebook we can all share in the joy......

Jephthah....for The Men Only

16 July 2014 - 05:04 PM

Hey....it's only fair! I clicked on the "Jephthah's Daughter" thread and, low and behold, we men can't participate. :)

Notice that the daughter, instead of bewailing being tied up and having her throat cut from ear to ear by her own father, then  having her body burned, bewails her ''virginity''. Hey, I  don't know about you guys but ''virginity'' would be the very least of my worries if that's what I was facing. But Leviticus 27:1-9, speaks of something called a ''singular'' vow. That word ''singular'' does not mean ''one''; it means ''bizarre'' or ''out of the ordinary''. Also understand that God almighty, the one who granted Jephthah's vow, knew very well who would meet Jephthah at the door and granted the request anyway and also understand that human sacrifice is an abomination to God. God DOES NOT ''delight'' in sacrifice, He delights in a broken and contrie spirit; that's what he desires. Jephthah's vow was not ''foolish'' as some say, it was pure faith, the type of faith that moves mountains. The type faith that got him listed in Hebrews chapter 11. Also notice that though Jephthah's mother was a sorry harlot who birthed him into a life of disgrace, his daughter was a chaste virgin who honored him in every way. Instead of saying ''he slew her on the altar'', the Bible says that he ''did with her according to the vow''. Again what type vow was it? It was ''singular''. ''bizarre'', exactly like the ''singular'' mentioned in Leviticus 27. Read Leviticus 27 where it speaks of the ''estimation''.

Another note; if a dog, donkey, camel etc. had come out to meet Jephthah it, also, would not have been sacrificed either...that procedure is outlined in Leviticus 27 also.

A Question For The "global Warming" Crowd...

13 May 2014 - 11:27 AM

How did the cave men cause the world the warm up, and end the "Ice Age".?

*not saying there actually were "cave men" or an "ice age".

Reformed Theology

"Whomsoever Allah guides, he is the one who follows the right way; and whomsoever He causes to err, these are the losers. And certainly We have created for hell many of the jinn and the men; ... Whomsoever Allah causes to err, there is no guide for him; and He leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on." S. 7:178-179, 186

"If thy Lord had so willed, He could have made mankind one People: but they will not cease to differ. Except those on whom thy Lord hath bestowed His Mercy: and for this did He create them: and the Word of thy Lord shall be fulfilled: ‘I will fill Hell with Jinns and men all together.’" S. 11:118-119

Is the Koran "Calvinistic" too? Looks like it to me...
