#398091 Abomination Of Desolation. In Your Opinion, What Is It?

Posted by beameup on 27 December 2014 - 08:01 PM

But he didn't desolate it in the same way Neb and Titus did.

Antiochus Epiphanes "polluted" the sanctuary (Holy of Holies) of the Second Temple (Herod simply improved upon the 2nd Temple).

The cleansing and rededication of the 2nd Temple was performed during the reign of the Maccabees.  It became a "feast day" and

was the only "feast" that was celebrated in winter.  John 10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

We call this Hanukkah.

Clearly, there will be a Third Temple, as Paul refers to it: 2 Thess 2:4

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped;
so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.  circa 50 AD
("sitting" in the Temple as opposed to "destroying" the Temple)
In Matthew 24, Jesus refers to both the destruction of the Temple (Matt 24:2 - 70 AD & 2nd Temple) and
the False Christ in the Holy of Holies, which corrupts/pollutes "abomination" (Matt 24:15 - yet future & 3rd Temple)

Noah took extra of the animals approved for sacrifice.  These were sacrificed by Noah and then the sacrificed animals were eaten.

What is translated by the King James as "the most holy place" is the Hebrew "qodesh qodesh" (holy-holy).

The King James adds the word "place", which is NOT in the original Hebrew.

The construction "Holy of Holies" is a literal translation of a Hebrew idiom which is intended to express a superlative.

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:  Rom 15:8

The Kingdom of Heaven was at hand and ready to be established on the earth - but was rejected.

The Body of Christ (ie: the "new man", the Church - composed of Jew & Gentile) wasn't even revealed until

Acts 9 when Jesus himself revealed this "mystery" (which had been hidden) directly to the Apostle Paul.

Les Feldick's Gospel of the Kingdom doctrine.

Why do you keep referencing Les Feldick?  No one here watches him on a regular basis (except you, it seems).

He is not King James ONLY, he is KJV preferred, and strongly defends the KJV and discredits other versions.

He does however correctly point out the division between scripture written TO Jews and that written to the Body of Christ

(which is more than I can say for many posters).  He definitely discredits the 4th Century Catholic Doctrine of applying

the Gospels DIRECTLY to the Body of Christ.

Can anyone point me to the references in the Gospels and Epistles where a millennium is taught?

A separate 1,000 year "Millennium" was not revealed until Revelation, however a restoration of the earth with Messiah ruling from Jerusalem is throughout the Old Testament.  The need for a Millennium is a "final solution" to the problem of sin so that God can dwell with man and the universe be filled with righteousness.

Peter's sermon to Israel in Acts 3:18-21

But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things,

which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Our associate pastor today in Sunday school warned about this dangerous false teaching in the guise of "rightly dividing".

There are a lot of pastors that won't preach the pure Gospel of Grace because they are afraid of losing member$hip.

You can see them on the "Christian" T.V. channels.  But not to worry, the Catholic Church was the first to mix Law & Grace

in the 4th Century, as they continue to this very day.  It seems like a lot of Protestant churches like to plagiarize the false Gospel.

I see lots of "semi-Catholics" mixing Grace with Law, replacing Israel with "spiritual Israel"... even among "IFB" it seems.

It takes "detective work" with the help of the Holy Spirit to uncover a lot of truth that is in the Scriptures.

How many times have I seen folks just "gloss over" a truth as if it wasn't even there.

Being creatures of habit, many often just "parrot" what they have heard others say.

The Bereans were more noble than the Thessalonians because they diligently searched the Scriptures.

Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Job 38:4

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:7

God is not one who "has a lot of time" to accomplish his plans.  God dwells in eternity.  God created the space-time continuum.

In Rev., John is describing things from HIS perspective, using the best language he can to describe events.

Unless the desire is simply to be contentious (Pro 26:21, Rom 2:8),

these concepts are easy to understand by the simplest of minds.

#381290 Pre Tribulation Rapture

Eric wouldn't it better to say things are restored during the Kingdom, then after the devil is loosed everything is destroyed with fire and a New Heaven and Earth appear?

Right, the earth will be "restored" following the Great Tribulation (Day of the Lord),

but what Peter refers to is the destruction and remaking of the universe "by fire".

There is a false teaching among Baptists that use a single verse as the foundation for their Christian cult:

He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom,

which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the

bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.  John 3:29

It would appear that these are the daily sacrifices & oblation (offering) in Dan 9.

Paul went up to Jerusalem and made a vow and offered a sacrifice.

As well, "the twelve" continued in Judaism.  The problem was with

The Atonement (Yom Kippur), which Christ fulfilled.  So it is understandable

that Israel will resume the Temple ceremonies once the Temple is rebuilt.

What's going on Iraq and Syria is a family fight  leading to fulfillment of the prophecy of Psalm 83.

"Islam" will be laid-low... very low.

The Temple was destroyed twice.  Both times it was destroyed on Tisha B'Av (9th of Av).

The Israeli's count Herod's as an embellishment of the Second Temple (Zerubbabel's Temple).

The Third Temple will be built in due time; all the preparations have already been made.

Time is short.
