My testimony that I had to write for College.

Ok so part of the application to Champion is to write your testimony. I just finished it and thought I was post it here.

My mom and dad were divorced when I was really young. Mom was saved but had never been taught what to do as a Christian and because of that she lived like a lost person. Shortly after the divorce was finalized, she got remarried. My step-dad’s mom started aggravating my parents to go to church. To get her off their backs they began to go to church on Sunday mornings. After some time my step-dad, who has acted more like a dad then my real dad leading me to normally refer to him as dad, started to get his heart right. This lead to us going to church more. I guess I was about six or seven and I thought I got saved. I lived like this was so for a long time, I started preaching and everything. At the age of 14 in the year 2004 I was in a chapel service preached by Kevin Mitchell. He preached on people playing the Christian game. He mentioned his wife that was serving as a youth pastor’s wife had played the Christian game. I realized that this is what I had been doing for so long. When he gave the invitation, I went a couple of pews back to one of my teachers who was shocked to hear that I needed to be saved. He read John 3:17 and told me that I knew what to do. That day I truly got saved.
That same year I went to Mexico with a church here in Cincinnati. While we were there, we passed out John and Romans. While we were at a small fishing village, we had several people come back and ask us to give them more for their families and friends. I started to ponder this act of love. The one thing that kept coming to mind was that America was not like that. God burned my heart about America. I have surrendered my life to evangelism.
Some things that I love to do are go to the youth activities with my youth group. I love to be at revival services. I enjoy playing pretty much any sport and if I do not care for it I still play to have fun with my friends.
I learned about Champion Baptist College at a youth conference in Louisville Kentucky. Bro. Capaci was preaching and he mentioned that the college would open up that fall. I have a strong desire to go here because God has laid it on my heart to attend there. I have been told that the work with young men going to evangelism is really awesome. I also attended college days and plan on attending again and fell in love with the people there.
Some of my goals are to graduate and immediately start traveling across the country. I want and pray that I get to preach at revivals, camps, and missions conferences. Some of the things that I pray God may give me the opportunity to do is preach in all 50 states and on all 6 populated continents. I mainly want to just serve God in every area of my life.

Just another teen that wishes he knew it all.
